The HUDY 101506 Executive Automatic Comm Lathe is built to deliver repeatable commutator trimming for slot car motors. Its middle shaft belt drive and ultra-hardened steel "V" guides keep rotation steady, while the black hard-anodized coating improves durability and resists workshop wear.

Targeted at serious modelers, the HUDY 101506 spins armatures through a central belt drive to minimise vibration during cuts. Ultra-fine-pitch lead screws allow precise tool travel and the adjustable backstop screw with a small purple wheel helps govern speed during automatic cycles. An engraved unique ID marks each machine.

Included Accessories and Tooling Note

The HUDY 101506 includes an installed main motor with a 12VDC connection plus gearbox, electronics, switch and connection cable so it is ready to power up. The kit also contains a carrying case, anti-vibration pads, spare drive belts, shims for tool height adjustment and a motor anti-vibration washer. Cutting tools are not included; the #101081 Diamond Cutting Tool is recommended for best results.

How do I set tool height correctly?

Use the supplied shims to establish the correct tool clearance and make small test passes while watching for even material removal. Fine adjustments are made with the ultra-fine-pitch lead screws.

Will the lathe work with my existing power supply?

The lathe requires a 12VDC connection. If your workshop supply matches that, the included connection cable and switch let you power the unit directly.

What maintenance does the lathe need?

Keep guides and lead screws clean and lightly lubricated, check belts for wear, and fit anti-vibration pads to dampen bench movement for the best long term performance.

Is the cutting tool included?

No, cutting tools are not included. The #101081 Diamond Cutting Tool is the recommended option for a clean finish.
