The Serpent 903020 Viper 990 centres its design on an ultra-narrow chassis to concentrate flex control and lower the centre of gravity. The platform is made to respond to setup changes so you can tune handling for fast, consistent laps.

Low Radio Plate and Weight Bridge Access

Milled sections lower the radio plate and refine the chassis flex profile while shrinking the central tank opening. The adjustable central weight bridge is accessible from below for quick mass redistribution during setup sessions.

Improved Rear Kinematics and Steering Tuning

The rear layout has been overhauled to reduce binding and to support reactive toe-change for better mid-corner behaviour. Front blocks accept an eccentric aluminium insert for roll-center tuning and support both trailing and leading steering styles.

Efficient Transmission and Durable Shafts

A compact 2-speed shaft and a well-balanced pulley system reduce losses and sustain power flow. Spring steel drive shafts connect securely to the wheel axles for long-term resistance to race stresses.

Use the supplied Ackermann inserts to experiment with steering bite and turn-in. Less Ackermann often helps at high speed, while more can aid slow-speed turn responsiveness.
Standard metric hex drivers, thread lock, and a small torque driver are sufficient. Precision alignment tools are helpful for drivetrain and suspension setup but not mandatory.
Use minimal but effective dust seals on bearings, clean the car regularly, and consider a light chassis guard or shielding around a high-wear area to limit grit intrusion.
The chassis is tailored for nitro layout and engine mounting; conversion to electric would require custom mounting solutions and careful balance work to maintain proper weight distribution.
