The Calsonic Skyline GT-R earned its place among touring car legends during the JGTC era from 1993, mixing strong Japanese engineering with fierce circuit battles. Its race history and engineering roots make it a popular subject for scale modelling.
Mechanically the GT-R featured a 2568cc inline-six engine with twin turbos that produced about 450 horsepower. The gearbox was an X-Trac sequential 6-speed, and the chassis used suspension ideas influenced by Nissan's Group C racecars for track-focused handling.
Tamiya's 1/24 model offers precisely moulded parts, a well-detailed cockpit including a roll cage, and accurately represented chassis and suspension components, giving a rewarding build and faithful display result.
The bright blue livery and aerodynamic rear wing make the finished model visually striking. It is well suited to collectors and builders interested in classic JGTC race cars and shelf-ready presentations.
