Civilian sedans were commonly adapted as staff cars in the 1940s, and the 1942 model features prominently in wartime imagery. This kit reflects that provenance, noting the vehicle's 4.9 metre overall length and its 90 horsepower, 6-cylinder engine layout. It recreates the car used to transport officers and aircrew around bases and fields.
The Tamiya 32559 kit is modelled at 1/48 scale from a car on display at the Minnesota Aviation Museum. Extensive photography informed the shape and detailing to ensure accuracy. A die-cast metal chassis contributes to the model's realistic feel and stability on display.
A freshly sculpted driver figure is included to enhance display options. The kit was designed to work alongside other 1/48 Military Miniature Series models such as the M4 Sherman and M26 Pershing, and complements 1/48 fighters like the P-51D and P-47 for staged airfield compositions.
