Racers looking for a competition platform will recognise the Tamiya 42162 - 1/10 TRF416X as a model born from extensive track testing. Tamiya's drivers contributed setup data that shaped the chassis evolution from the TRF416 to the TRF416X, which continued to perform strongly in events such as the 2010 IFMAR World Championship.
The TRF416X refines balance and traction with measured layout changes. The motor has been shifted 1mm toward the centre to tune mass distribution, while the rear ball differential is positioned 1.8mm further back to enhance traction and drive. These adjustments make the car more controllable through fast corners and on throttle application.
High-grade carbon decks are used, with the lower deck at 2.25mm and the upper at 2mm to boost rigidity. A wider front bulkhead attachment and a revised lower deck profile strengthen the front end. The direct coupling of front and centre pulleys streamlines power flow and reduces drivetrain slop for crisper acceleration.
The TRF416X is built for tuned drivers who value chassis feedback and repeatable handling for race days and testing sessions.
