The Tamiya 92212 1/24 scale kit recreates the Nissan GT-R with a special clear hood so the engine can be seen on finished models. The 2007 Tokyo Motor Show concept provided the design cues for this GT-R, which uses a twin-turbo V6 with an output near 480 horsepower. The kit faithfully reflects the GT-Rs muscular lines and gives modellers a rewarding construction sequence.

What paints work best for the engine bay?

Use hobby acrylics or enamel paints for engine detail, applying thin coats and washes to bring out casting detail without clouding the clear hood.

Is masking required for the clear hood?

Masking is recommended when painting adjacent bodywork to avoid overspray on the clear panel; use low-tack tape and remove it carefully after finishing.
