This 1/24 scale plastic assembly kit reproducing the Toyota Celica LB Turbo Gr.5 is offered as a re-release of a classic motorized kit and targets modellers aiming for an authentic Group 5 era racer replica.
The competing Toyota Celica LB Turbo Gr.5 was prepared for the 1977 DRM (Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft) on the Celica Liftback platform. Its competition specification included broad overfenders, a sizable rear wing and extensive lightweight body panels to comply with Group 5 rules. It ran a heavily modified 2,090cc turbocharged inline-four with dual overhead cams, delivering competitive power for the era after its mid-1977 debut.
For this reissue, the original tooling has been refreshed and a Cartograf decal sheet added, along with a revised instruction manual and updated box art. Plastic parts include cockpit detail with a roll cage, a representational chassis underside and basic suspension elements. Mesh-style wheels and solid synthetic rubber slick tyres are included. The kit also contains one driver figure and several car number choices on the decal sheet.
The kit supplies the period-correct exterior and essential detail parts for an accurate late-1970s Group 5 Celica, making it a good candidate for both display modelling and historical collections.
