The O.S. Engine 160FX is aimed at model pilots who want a compact, torque-rich four-stroke. As the largest FX-series engine, its wide, wing-shaped exhaust port boosts low RPM torque, making it suited to both aggressive aerobatics and steady sport flying where a reliable throttle response matters.
This engine incorporates a remote needle valve with three mounting choices: vertical, horizontal or detached from the engine. That makes it easier to fit into a wide variety of cowlings and simplifies tuning access while still delivering economical fuel consumption for longer sorties.
Displacing 1.60 cu in (26 cc), the 160FX produces 3.7 hp at 9,000 RPM and works across roughly 1,800 to 10,000 RPM. It is fitted with a Type 60F carburetor for stable throttle control and comes with the E-5010 silencer to reduce exhaust noise at the flying site.
For crisp aerobatics consider prop sizes from 15x12 to 16.5x13. For general sport and touring use, props in the 17x10 to 18x12 band give better cruise efficiency and smoother handling.
Reliable and adaptable, the O.S. Engine 160FX is a practical four-stroke for pilots wanting a balance of torque, compactness and fuel economy.
