This 1/700 scale plastic kit depicts the German cruiser Admiral Hipper as she appeared in 1940, aimed at modellers and collectors who favor compact, display-oriented warship builds.
Commissioned on 29 April 1939 as the lead ship of her class, Admiral Hipper participated in early wartime operations off Norway. On 8 April 1940 she engaged HMS Glowworm, which attempted to ram and later sank after inflicting damage. Admiral Hipper later joined Scharnhorst and Gneisenau in Norwegian operations and conducted commerce-raiding missions against Allied convoys in late 1940 and early 1941, with involvement in actions concerning WS-5A and the interception of convoy SLS-64 in February 1941.
The completed model measures about 294.15 mm in length and 33 mm in width at 1/700 scale. The kit arrives on six sprues including separate upper and lower hull halves, a deck, a wateline plate and a display stand; the parts total is 263 plastic pieces. The sprue layout and box dimensions make the kit suitable for small dioramas and space-constrained displays. No photo-etched, resin, or metal parts are noted in the product information.
A compact, reference-scale Admiral Hipper kit that fits neatly into small display setups and focused naval model collections.
