Front Shock Upgrade for Serious XT8 Drivers

For riders aiming to improve front-end feel, the XRAY 358109 XT8 Front Big Bore Shock Set provides a substantial upgrade. The big-bore layout helps maintain control over rough terrain and during hard cornering.

Durable Aluminium Barrel with Fine Adjustment

The XRAY 358109 design uses an 18.5mm outer diameter hardcoated aluminium body for durability and low wear. Externally threaded bodies and adjustable collars enable accurate downstop settings, and the single-piece aluminium cap speeds up maintenance.

Internal Flow and Composite Pistons

The 15.3mm inner diameter ensures steady oil circulation around precision pistons made from a specially-formulated composite material, offering smooth travel and long life. Wider membranes are matched to the big-bore size to preserve damping balance under load.

Sealed Lower Assembly and Practical Maintenance

The lower assembly reduces oil seepage and keeps contaminants out using two silicone O-rings that seal while permitting free shock rod motion. An aluminium cap secures the protective rubber boot and simplifies servicing tasks.

Heavy-Duty Shock Shafts

Built to cope with severe use, the 3.5mm thick shock shafts are high-tensile steel, machined and ground for a refined finish that resists bending from hard landings.

Yes, the XRAY 358109 shocks are made to fit the XT8 front assembly and use the same mounting layout for a straightforward swap.
Stronger, ground shafts resist damage and keep seal wear lower, but regular servicing and clean seals are still essential to prevent oil leaks and contamination.
Soften the oil and consider a slightly lighter spring to help the front bite in loose and low-traction conditions while retaining enough damping for stability.
