The Italeri 6477 kit models the Semovente L 40 Da 47/32, a small Italian tank destroyer fielded during World War II. Built from the L6/40 light tank chassis, its armament was a 47mm gun in a fixed superstructure. Though limited versus heavier foes, it was deployed in North Africa and later operated under German control following the 1943 armistice.
Launched in 1941, production reached around 300 vehicles. The Semovente provided a modest boost in anti-tank capability for Italian forces in late campaigns and saw continued use after capture by German units.
This Italeri release emphasises correct proportions and visible hull detail, suiting builders who value historical accuracy. Expect some delicate parts and the need for precise gluing to achieve a clean final appearance suitable for shelf display or tabletop scenes.
