Advance of Zeta - RX-121-2 Hazel TR-1 HG 1/144 - testbed compact engineering

Presented as a High Grade 1/144 kit, this Gunpla recreates the RX-121-2 Hazel TR-1 from the Advance of Zeta side story in the Universal Century. The mobile suit's role as an experimental platform is echoed in the kit through modular paneling, distinct attachment points, and an emphasis on articulated joint separations to emulate the prototype appearance at a small scale.

Build difficulty and workshop notes

Difficulty: normal. Routine modelling equipment—nippers, a hobby knife, and a small file or sanding stick—will handle most build tasks. The kit is intended for conventional snap-fit assembly without the need for specialized tools.

Finishing and display preparation

Surface work is optional; light seam sanding and panel lining are common techniques to increase visual separation and depth. Apply a clear topcoat if you want to protect markings and finishes for long-term display.

Specifications

  • Scale: 1/144
  • Grade: HG
  • Build Level: normal

This HG 1/144 Hazel TR-1 kit conveys the variant's modular silhouette and articulated joints in a compact format suitable for shelf display and dynamic posing.

Light seam sanding to remove sprue marks, followed by panel lining, will significantly improve visual clarity. A final clear coat will even out sheen and protect the finish.
No advanced tools are required. The kit is designed for standard modelling tools; however, precision tweezers and fine sanding supplies can speed up detailing tasks.
The moulded panels and mounting points faithfully convey the TR-1's modular approach, and separated armor elements help reproduce the prototype silhouette at the 1/144 scale.
