The Yokomo SD-414TA is an RC-scale aluminium light weight kingpin intended to take the place of the stepped screw that secures the front knuckle. Its reduced mass at the steering pivot helps the knuckle react more quickly while retaining the standard mounting interface, so swapping it in is straightforward for drivers refining steering response on drift builds.
Fitment is straightforward: extract the original stepped screw and flange, install the supplied hard-coated flange, then secure the knuckle with the included titanium button-head screws. Because the kit preserves the original knuckle geometry, roll center and ackermann are left unchanged, allowing steering feel to be tuned through suspension and alignment settings rather than altering link positions.
In practical tuning the SD-414TA provides a small drop in rotational inertia at the steering axis, improving initial turn-in and transition reaction. It pairs well with adjustments to caster, toe, and shock settings and is intended to add refinement rather than overhaul handling character.
