Service shaft for RC drift drivetrains

The SD-644SA main drive shaft by Yokomo is a single aluminium replacement intended for the Drift Package / Drift Racer series. It is supplied to restore drivetrain performance on compatible DP and MRTC chassis after wear or accidental damage.

This shaft carries torque from the gearbox output to the final drive. When fitting, ensure splines are fully engaged, bearings sit true, and retention hardware is correct. Rotate the drivetrain by hand after fitment to check for smooth operation and avoid forcing components that do not align.

Aluminium can alter rotating mass slightly compared with other materials. In normal hobby use the change is minimal, but for precise balance tuning inspect dynamic behavior after replacement.
Use recommended greases on splines and bearings as per your normal maintenance routine. Avoid over-greasing which can attract dirt and debris in drift environments.
Yes, in most cases the original screws or clips can be reused. Verify they are in good condition and that they secure the shaft without excessive play.
