Mount Design Details for D-Max

The Yokomo SD-304DS is a dedicated aluminum motor mount for the D-Max special chassis with an anodized blue finish. The layout uses a clamp motor interface plus a separate aluminum cam and spring so motor location can be reproduced reliably after removal.

Practically the component acts as a stiff anchor to maintain motor alignment with spur and pinion and to keep backlash and mesh settings stable during operation. Standard installation is: fasten the mount to the chassis, position the motor using the clamp and cam, then set gear mesh and torque the screws.

By providing a rigid mounting point and repeatable motor positioning via the cam and clamp, the SD-304DS helps maintain consistent gear mesh across runs, reducing the need for frequent adjustments.
Yes. The separate motor cam allows incremental positioning; set the cam, check mesh under load, and make small adjustments until the desired engagement and noise level are reached.
The clamp system accommodates common motor footprint variations used on the D-Max chassis, but always verify motor height and shaft alignment before final torque.
Ensure the mount is fully seated and fasteners torqued evenly, use the cam to lock repeatable position, and run a brief break-in with light loads to let components settle before final mesh tuning.
