Arrowmax Mid-Motor Conversion for the Yokomo BD9

The Arrowmax AM-910003 AM Medius MID Conversion Kit adapts the Yokomo BD9 to a mid-motor layout to enhance turn-in and traction. By shifting mass toward the centre, the car becomes more controllable through corners and retains composure at speed.

Two Chassis Paths for Different Driving Styles

Choose between a thinner 2.25mm carbon fibre chassis when you want nimble response, or a tougher 2.0mm alloy chassis if durability is your priority. Both setups include a 2.0mm carbon fibre upper deck to maintain chassis integrity and consistent handling.

Tuned Drivetrain and Stiffness Control

The package contains a 7075 alloy single-piece motor mount to secure the motor and cut down vibration. Improved 7075 centre pulleys refine power transmission for cleaner acceleration and top-end speed. A chassis stiffener is supplied to let you adjust flex for differing track surfaces.

Specifications

  • Chassis Material: 2.25mm carbon fibre / 2.0mm alloy
  • Upper Deck Material: 2.0mm carbon fibre
  • Motor Mount: 7075 alloy single-piece
  • Center Pulleys: Redesigned 7075 alloy

This Arrowmax AM-910003 conversion is well suited to Yokomo BD9 owners who fine tune handling and drivetrain behaviour. The kit gives clear component upgrades and setup flexibility for club and national level tracks.

Switching to a mid-motor layout shifts weight centrally so expect a noticeable change in balance; you may need to reposition the battery and adjust suspension to regain your preferred feel.
Wear items such as pulleys and mounts use standard sizes and replacement 7075 parts are available to maintain drivetrain performance over time.
Shock tuning is commonly required after changing mass distribution; softer or firmer damping may be needed depending on how the conversion affects traction and body roll.
Standard RC tools are sufficient for most of the install, though precision alignment tools and thread locker are recommended when securing alloy parts and pulleys.
