The Tamiya 31320 1/700 Japanese Light Cruiser Natori is a scale recreation of the Nagara-class ship first launched in 1922. The Natori took part in operations including the Battle of Sunda Strait and was sunk by a US submarine in August 1944. This kit reflects the ship's early 1940s appearance, featuring the slender hull form that allowed speeds up to 36 knots.
For modellers who prioritise detail, the kit contains intricately moulded components: three funnels, seven 14cm guns, torpedo launchers, catapult fittings and floatplanes. Metal flotation pieces are provided to enhance realism, particularly for water-display setups.
At a completed length of 230mm, the build requires careful work on small parts and is best handled by those with moderate to advanced modelling skills. Waterslide decals and clear pictorial instructions help with the finer markings. Finished, this model complements a historical fleet or museum-style collection.
