Swap in the GPM SCX24038 aluminium centre gearbox on an Axial SCX24 to stiffen the transmission mount and refine steering inputs. Fabricated from Aluminum 6061 T6, the part increases structural resilience and helps dissipate heat from the gear train.

Does this change gear mesh settings?

The aluminium gearbox itself does not alter gear tooth geometry, but you should recheck mesh when reinstalling to ensure optimal contact and avoid premature wear.

Is there a weight penalty?

An aluminium centre box is heavier than stock plastic, which can lower the centre of gravity and improve traction, but expect a modest overall weight increase.

Should I change mounting screws?

Use the supplied screws and torque them evenly. If you run on rough terrain, consider a small amount of medium strength thread locker on metal-to-metal fasteners.
