Track-widening hex adapters for SCX10 II

This pair of aluminium wheel hex adapters provides a simple, robust way to increase wheel offset on AXIAL Racing SCX10 II vehicles. The 27mm total width shifts wheels outward to broaden the track and improve lateral stability when crawling uneven terrain.

Manufacture pairs a machined aluminium hex hub with a Delrin locating collar to position the wheel. An O-ring on one side plus a spring steel ring and washers on the other maintain preload and reduce the chance of slippage. A stainless steel cap head screw secures the adapter to 4mm threaded wheel shafts and the centre 4mm bore takes wheels with a 4mm mounting hole.

Installation is direct: mount the adapter on a compatible 4mm threaded shaft, fit the Delrin collar, arrange the O-ring and spring ring stack as shown in the part orientation, then tighten the stainless screw to secure the wheel. Always confirm clearance through full suspension travel and reassess steering link geometry, wheel balance and bearing alignment after widening the stance.

Can I use stock tyres and rims with these adapters?

Yes, provided the wheels have a 4mm mounting hole to match the adapter bore and the rim clears the body and suspension after the offset change.

Should I use threadlocker on the screw?

A mild medium-strength threadlocker is commonly used on stainless fasteners in RC builds to help prevent loosening, but check fitment regularly and avoid over-tightening which can deform the Delrin collar.

Does this affect axle or bearing wear?

Widening track changes load paths and can increase side loads on bearings; monitor bearing condition and wheel alignment during initial runs and adjust maintenance intervals if needed.
