This aluminium front and rear gearbox housing set is an RC-scale upgrade for Axial RR10 Bomber and Wraith platforms. It replaces stock plastic cases with machined alloy housings to improve rigidity and reduce wear in gearbox assemblies used on scale trail builds.
The parts are aimed at RR10 Bomber and Wraith chassis that adopt the AX31317 style gearbox configuration. Confirm your chassis uses the same gearbox mounting points and gear stack arrangement to avoid fitment issues.
Fitment procedure: remove wheel hubs and driveshafts, open the gearbox cover, then transplant internal gears and bearings into the alloy housings following the original orientation. After fitting check bearing fit and gear mesh clearance, tweak shims or washers if needed, and tighten fasteners to your chassis torque specs. Use thread locker on screws that feed into alloy where vibration is likely.
Performance notes: aluminium housings change stiffness and thermal behaviour versus plastic, reducing flex under load and helping keep a stable gear mesh. Be sure to check bearing seating and lubrication since harder housings can transmit more vibration into gears.
