This GPM belt drive set is an aftermarket replacement for Axial crawler gearboxes, using 6061-T6 aluminium parts and a rubber belt with friction discs to reduce gearbox vibration and audible noise versus metal gear-only systems. It is aimed at hobbyists seeking smoother operation on trails.
Be aware that belt drives reduce peak torque transmission compared with a direct metal gear mesh, so very powerful motor setups may not achieve the same load capability as a full gear drive. Verify your motor shaft inner diameter is 3.175 before fitting and note the large pulley conforms to common RC spline sizes.
Installation summary: reinstall the gearbox metal plate, fit the chosen friction disc into the pulley groove, locate the bearing centrally and replace the plate, anti-skid spring and nut. Position the two pulley gears so the belt fits, then set final spacing for correct belt tension. Confirm set screws are tight and the belt tracks true without side loading.
