Weighted pendulum knuckle for stable crawling
The SCX023 pendulum wheel knuckle and 21mm hex adapter from GPM is made for Axial SCX10 rigs and select Gmade models. It features a bearing-mounted pendulum with a Delrin sleeve and a tapered weight shape that concentrates mass low in the wheel area to help the chassis stay planted during large steering angles.
Increasing individual wheel mass improves traction and stability, particularly when a wheel drops into a cavity or when climbing over low-angle obstacles. The pendulum's geometry keeps the added weight oriented downward through suspension travel and steering, preserving ground contact under load.
Design notes: the 21mm hex expands the hub flange versus many stock hexes, and the pendulum uses a bearing plus Delrin collar for smooth rotation. The manufacturer lists a combined single pendulum and hex weight of 54 grams, and the hex is specified at 21mm wide.
Installation constraints: intended for wheels with a 45mm inner diameter and requiring a 5mm threaded hole for secure fastening. Confirm wheel inner diameter and thread size before fitting this kit.
