Skid plate for gearbox underside

This stainless steel centre gear box bottom protector is intended for AXIAL 4WD SCX24 machines and serves as an aftermarket skid plate to reduce ingress of stones and coarse debris. It covers the underside of the centre gearbox to soften minor impacts encountered on rough tracks.

Construction and clearance: built from corrosion-resistant stainless steel, the plate is contoured to sit beneath the gearbox front and rear sections without fouling suspension components. Locator holes align with the upper main-shaft screw points to allow shaft removal while the plate remains in place.

Fitting guidelines: use the supplied screws to secure the plate, confirm main shaft and axle clearance through full suspension travel, and ensure no contact with rotating components. The low-profile shield keeps added weight and service complexity to a minimum while protecting internal gear sets.

Is the plate heavy?

The plate is designed to be low mass while still offering protection, so it has minimal impact on handling and performance.

Do I need special tools to fit it?

Standard small hex drivers or screwdrivers used for RC assembly will fit the supplied stainless steel button head screws; no specialised tools required.

Will it prevent all damage?

It protects against sand, small rocks and light impacts, but it is not a guarantee against heavy hits or chassis deformation from severe crashes.
