Qubeley Mk-II MG 1/100 - structure, motion and detail

This Master Grade 1/100 kit recreates the AMX-004-3 PLE Two's Qubeley Mk-II from the Universal Century. The Qubeley lineage emphasises manoeuvrability and remote-weapon operations tailored to Newtype pilots, with compact sensor integration and efficient propulsion. The MG engineering mirrors that intent with multi-piece armour, articulated sub-frames and dedicated mounting points for funnel systems.

Difficulty rating and workshop kit

Rated advanced. Typical modelling tools will manage most of the construction: nippers for runners, a hobby knife for trimming, sanding sticks for smoothing and tweezers for handling small elements. Glue and putty are optional extras for seam corrections and customised finishes.

Panel work and protective coatings

Recommended finishing procedures include panel lining to highlight surface detail, filling and sanding for seam lines, and careful masking for paint applications. Use several light clear coats to control sheen and protect decals while keeping engraved lines visible.

Specifications

  • Scale: 1/100
  • Grade: MG
  • Build Level: advanced

As a Master Grade, the kit focuses on poseable inner frameworks, separable outer sections and build paths suited to display and custom finishing.

The engineered internal joints provide a wide range of motion suitable for dynamic stances, though proper tightening and correct assembly of sub-frames helps maintain pose stability.
Most major seams are designed to be clean, but some joins may need light putty and sanding to achieve a seamless painted surface.
The separable binders and articulated arms allow flight or action poses; clear stands or an action base work well to show funnel deployment and dramatic angles.
The internal space in MG kits can sometimes accommodate small LEDs, but plan wiring routes and battery placement carefully to avoid interfering with joint movement.
This kit is best for modellers with prior MG or complex kit experience; newcomers can still build a snap-fit model but should take extra time for finishing techniques.
