Small-scale HG interpretation of a classic Universal Century suit

This release is a High Grade 1/144 Gunpla kit. The molded components portray the Gelgoog from the Universal Century continuity, a late One Year War model created to surpass earlier Zeon designs in battlefield performance. In-story the Gelgoog functioned as a frontline machine to respond to Federation mobile suit advances. The kit mirrors that heritage at reduced scale by emphasising correct proportions, weapon layout and articulation for expressive posing and practical weapons handling.

Build complexity and tools

Difficulty: normal. Everyday modelling implements such as nippers, a hobby knife and sanding paper will handle the usual assembly steps. No specialized tools are required for the standard snap-fit parts and subassemblies.

Surface prep and finishing

Recommended optional work includes seam sanding and panel lining to accentuate surface detail. Painting can be used to adjust tones to on-screen references; finish with a topcoat to secure decals and protect fine lining work.

Specifications

  • Scale: 1/144
  • Grade: HG
  • Build Level: normal

This kit delivers a compact, articulation-oriented version of the Gelgoog that balances multipart detail with ease of assembly for shelf-ready poses.

Light priming and thin coats work best on these plastic parts. Test paints on a sprue first to check adhesion and color match.
Use a fine panel-lining wash or marker, then remove excess with a cotton bud lightly dampened with thinner for crisp lines.
If joints are loose, apply a thin layer of clear nail polish or a small amount of adhesive designed for plastics to pins and allow to cure before full movement.
While not required, selective paint, weathering and decal placement will elevate the kit from box-fresh to a display-standard model.
