Tune front-end response with BD-516L

The BD-516L is a low-friction front drive belt designed for Yokomo BD7 and BD5 chassis. Molded from a softer compound than stock belts, it reduces drag in the front drivetrain and is supplied as a single replacement part for 1/10 on-road models where drivetrain losses influence setup and feel.

Practical notes: install the belt along the factory routing on supported BD7/BD5 variants using your normal disassembly routine. Check belt tracking and fine-tune tension after fitting. Because the material is softer, expect a different tension curve versus stock; adjust to maintain drive without excessive preload.

Will this belt change my steering feel?

Reducing front drivetrain drag can alter steering response and balance; small changes in feel are normal and may require damping or toe adjustments to restore preferred handling.

How durable is the softer compound?

The softer material trades some wear resistance for lower friction. Monitor belt wear over time and replace if you notice fraying or excessive stretch.

Can I switch back to the original belt easily?

Yes. The BD-516L uses the same belt path as the stock belt, so reverting to the original part is straightforward following the reverse of the installation steps.
