Technical Notes on the BD8 Carrier

This front steering hub carrier is made from a hard, graphite-filled resin and is intended as a standard fit for BD8 2018. The carrier brings the kingpin axis 1mm closer to the chassis, which affects scrub radius and tread measurements when used with hubs of different thicknesses.

Material and form: graphite-molded hard resin gives a firmer feel versus softer materials, improving steering feedback and stability at speed without altering the mounting interfaces on compatible chassis.

Tuning role: the -1mm offset combined with selected wheel hubs lets you dial small changes to steering geometry, helping you balance turn-in and mid-corner behaviour for precise on-road handling setups.

Compatibility

Supported chassis: BD8 2018, MRTC-BD818, MRTC-BD818A.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
The harder resin with graphite reinforcement offers improved resistance to deformation compared with softer compounds, providing consistent steering feedback in typical on-road conditions; like any plastic part, extreme impacts may still cause damage.
No modification of mounting points is required. The carrier keeps the original interfaces, though you may choose different wheel hubs to achieve the intended scrub radius and track adjustments.
Altering scrub radius and track can change how load is distributed across the tyre contact patch; small geometry changes may affect wear patterns, so monitor tyres after setup tweaks and adjust as needed.
