Durable front spring for off-road tuning

This RC-scale front suspension spring is intended for off-road applications and carries the Yokomo YOKRP-083BK identifier, with a black finish matching the product title. It acts as a direct replacement for conventional front shock springs and is aimed at letting you adjust handling without changing shock cylinders or internal pistons.

Installation is standard for coil-type shocks: remove the shock cap or spring retainer, slide off the original spring, then fit the replacement ensuring correct alignment of the spring seat and retainer. Use appropriate shock service tools and observe normal RC workshop safety when handling compressed springs and disassembled shocks. Basic familiarity with shock teardown on scale off-road models is assumed.

From a setup standpoint, a front spring mainly alters ride height, initial compliance, and how the nose reacts under weight transfer. Paired with damping and preload changes, swapping springs is an efficient method to tweak understeer and front-end grip on loose terrain. Make incremental changes and track results for reliable comparisons.

For maintenance, inspect for straightness and any loss of coating that could cause binding on the shock shaft or spring seat. Clean mating surfaces and ensure retainers and collars are fully engaged when reassembling. Confirm spring length and seat compatibility with your shock assembly prior to final fitment.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Inspect for kinks, bends, or worn coating that may catch on the shaft. Replace the spring if any deformation is visible or if the finish has flaked enough to risk binding.
While designed for off-road use, heavy impacts can shorten spring life. Regular inspection after hard runs is recommended to catch fatigue early.
Keep the shock shaft and seat clean and free of grit, and avoid using excessively abrasive cleaners that might remove the spring coating or damage the shaft finish.
