Technical notes on the BMax4 front spring

The Yokomo YOKBMS1260 is supplied as a hard purple front coil for BMax4 dampers, stamped with a 1260 rate. It gives a simple route to increase front stiffness and alter roll and pitch behavior on 1/10 touring models without swapping shock pistons or bodies.

Fitting is standard: remove the shock cap, compress the shaft, slide the spring over the shaft and onto the retainer, then rebuild. Always fit matching springs both sides to keep symmetric response and verify the spring does not bind against the shaft or retainers.

Handling effects: a harder front spring raises roll stiffness and curbs front dive, often moving balance toward understeer. To recover neutral handling try different oil weights, tweak bleed rates or soften the rear springs; make incremental changes and compare laps.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Installation follows coil-over conventions: remove cap, compress shaft, slide spring onto shaft and ensure it seats properly on the retainer before reassembling the shock.
Often yes; increasing oil viscosity or altering bleed rates can help tune the car back from increased understeer caused by the stiffer front spring.
