Upgrade piston for front dampers on B-MAX4

This front X shock piston set is supplied as a two piece kit for B-MAX4 front dampers and replaces the stock front shock pistons. The set is intended as a simple tuning option for the named B-MAX chassis.

Swap these pistons to adjust damper behavior without altering springs or shock bodies. The procedure involves standard shock teardown, piston replacement, bleeding air, and refilling with shock oil. Replace any worn O-rings or seals during service.

For tuning, experiment with different shock oil viscosities to see how compression and rebound are affected on track. The black finish helps keep visual changes minimal when fitted.

Start with the oil weight you normally run and make incremental changes; lighter oil will speed up rebound while heavier oil will slow it down, letting you tune roll and traction.

Do I need different springs after changing pistons?

Not necessarily. Piston changes mainly affect damping; springs control ride height and spring rate. Adjust springs only if the overall chassis balance or ride height requires it.

Any tips for bleeding shocks properly?

Move the piston slowly while filling to remove air pockets, tap the shock to release trapped bubbles, and cycle the shock several times before final tightening to ensure consistent damping.
