Modify damping bias with a tapered X-piston

This optional X-shock tapered piston is designed to change the damping balance between extension and compression by making one side of the piston tapered. The asymmetric profile gives tuners a simple mechanical way to bias shock behavior without changing oil viscosity or spring rates.

Correct orientation is key: install the tapered face upward on front shocks to boost front load transfer under deceleration, and fit the tapered face downward on rear shocks to help prevent sudden rear breakaway when the car rolls. The piston is drilled with six holes in a 1.1mm pattern; a 1.0mm alternative (BM-S106T?400) is referenced in the source.

Apply this piston as part of stepwise setup changes: replace one piston, evaluate lap feedback, and note which orientation delivers the handling correction you want. It is an RC-scale shock piston made for tuning tasks only.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Orientation alters which stroke receives reduced flow resistance, affecting weight transfer and how the car reacts mid-corner and during deceleration.
Yes, it is a tuning tool. Use it to tune vehicle balance across surfaces by changing piston orientation and logging the handling changes rather than swapping oils immediately.
