Black anodized aluminum case for DT02/DT03/DT04 and Hornet EVO

The JAZRIDER JR-THNE06-BK is an RC-scale aluminum replacement housing built for direct installation on Tamiya DT02, DT03, DT04 and Hornet EVO vehicles. This single-piece black anodized unit replaces the stock plastic case to provide a firmer mounting surface and more consistent gear engagement during demanding running conditions.

Fitment is limited to the platforms listed; internal parts such as bearings, spur and pinion gears should be reused from the original assembly unless you are upgrading those items separately. The machined aluminum body improves alignment stability under load and can help dissipate heat compared with plastic, while adding mass that will influence chassis balance.

Installation notes: transfer the internal components and retaining hardware from your existing gear box, check bearing seating and gear mesh as part of the build process, and confirm motor mount and suspension clearances before final tightening. This is offered as a direct chassis hop-up rather than a full drivetrain kit.

Specifications

  • Material: Aluminum
  • Model Number: JR-THNE06-BK
  • Compatibility: Tamiya DT02/ DT03/ DT04/ Hornet EVO

Use the JAZRIDER JR-THNE06-BK when replacing worn plastic housings or when you need a stiffer drivetrain mounting point for tuning on supported Tamiya DT platforms; ensure parts transfer and gear alignment are checked during installation.

A stiffer aluminum housing gives a more stable drivetrain mount, which can translate to crisper throttle response and more predictable behavior when tuning gearing and suspension; expect a small change in weight distribution.
The black anodize provides surface protection against abrasion and corrosion, but like any metal part it can show wear under heavy impacts; regular inspection is advised after demanding runs.
The part is intended as a direct replacement; however, verify motor mount clearance and alignment during assembly since the rigid case can expose minor spacing issues that were masked by flex in the plastic housing.
Confirm bearing seating, recheck gear mesh under manual rotation, tighten hardware progressively to avoid distortion, and perform a cautious test run to verify there are no unusual noises or binding.
