What the diaphragm cap does

This diaphragm shock cap set fits Yokomo and Associated shock bodies and replaces the hard cap with a flexible diaphragm to help preserve internal gas pressure, reduce oil aeration, and smooth damping during repeated cycles. The flexible membrane design helps keep oil separated from air inside the damper.

Verify that your shock body matches the cap profile before installation; compatibility is limited to the brands in the product name. With the diaphragm installed, foaming is reduced and damping tends to remain more uniform through extended running.

Fitting requires standard damper disassembly: remove the shock, manage or remove oil, take off the original cap, press the diaphragm into place ensuring it is seated correctly, and reassemble with even torque to avoid pinching. After assembly gently compress the shock to check for proper movement and no leaks.

These caps support tuning by protecting oil condition; they are not a substitute for spring or oil changes but they help your selected setup stay consistent, especially on choppy or high-frequency surfaces.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Yes, provided the cap geometry matches the shock body and internal components; the diaphragm only alters the cap seal, not piston or shaft dimensions.
They reduce oil exposure to air, which cuts down on aeration and foaming that typically occurs on rough, high-frequency tracks.
Inspect for cuts or hardening, clean seating surfaces before refit, and replace diaphragms if they show wear to keep a consistent seal.
