Aluminum posts and collars for D-Max

The SD-118DM kit swaps the original D-Max mounting hardware for aluminum posts and collars to create a more robust anchor for the battery pack. This makes it easier to achieve consistent pack placement across runs.

To install, remove the stock D-Max posts and fit the supplied aluminum posts into the existing mounting holes, then secure with the collars, O-rings and flat head screws supplied in the kit. The O-rings help to limit side play while the collar and screw pair secures height and lateral position.

For setup work, the kit enables incremental adjustments to battery position and height so you can tune balance and handling without fabricating bespoke mounts. It is intended for RC use by racers and hobbyists who frequently adjust battery location.

How robust are the SD-118DM aluminum posts?

The aluminum construction offers greater stiffness than stock plastic posts, reducing flex at the mount and improving repeatability under load. Normal wear depends on use intensity and crash exposure.

Can I service the collars and O-rings?

Yes. The collars and O-rings are removable so you can replace worn O-rings or clean contact surfaces to keep the posts performing consistently.

Are spare parts available if I lose a screw or collar?

If a piece is lost, matching flat head screws and O-rings are standard sizes listed in the kit, so equivalent replacements are normally available from hobby suppliers.
