Tuning with D-Max Slipper Pads

This is a pair of slipper pads supplied as D-MAX standard parts for RC use, sold as 2 pcs. They are manufactured to replace the original pads in the slipper clutch assembly on compatible D-Max kits and provide the friction interface that determines engagement and slip characteristics.

Note that each pad offers two different faces; correct orientation is essential. Fit the face that mates to the slipper hub and the face that contacts the clutch shoe according to your chassis arrangement to maintain expected slip feel and to avoid premature wear.

Installation steps: remove the slipper assembly, inspect the clutch shoes and hub for wear, install the two pads in the same orientation as removed, then reassemble and set initial preload. Test progressively and adjust slipper tension while running to refine launch and traction behavior.

How these affect setup: swapping or reorienting pads is a low-impact way to modify initial bite and slip progression without changing springs or core components, making them ideal for small tuning steps during practice sessions.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Yes. The item is supplied as a pair of pads intended to replace both positions in the slipper assembly.
Yes. Orientation influences slip onset and progression which can change launch behavior and traction, indirectly affecting lap consistency and times.
Pads are useful for fine tuning and can be tried early in the setup process, but they do not replace major hardware adjustments like spring rates or diff tuning.
