Aluminium 12-degree lower caster block

The Yokomo YOKIB41312 aluminium lower caster block is manufactured as a direct replacement for DRB and DIB chassis, offering a stable 12° lower caster configuration in machined aluminium with a blue anodised surface. It targets changes to lower pivot stiffness and steering roll centre without requiring alterations to adjacent steering parts.

Fitting the part is aimed at experienced modelers: remove the stock lower caster block from the hub carrier, install the aluminium unit, and secure with the original fasteners. Basic hex drivers and a solid bench are all that is normally needed; confirm all fastenings and suspension geometry before track use.

As a tuning item the aluminium option tightens suspension response under load compared with softer materials, while the fixed 12° geometry supports predictable caster behaviour suited to medium- and high-traction layouts. The blue finish also helps with quick visual inspection during setup changes.

The machined aluminium construction is more impact and wear resistant than standard plastic blocks, though severe impacts can still deform or scuff the part.
In almost all cases the original screws will fit; inspect threads and replace any worn fasteners to ensure a secure installation.
A stiffer aluminium block can concentrate loads differently, so check bearings and pivot points for accelerated wear during early runs and service as required.
The blue anodised finish is mainly cosmetic but also provides a protective oxide layer that helps resist minor corrosion and surface wear.
