This plastic assembly kit captures the Ducati Desmosedici at 1/12 scale, emphasising the V4 engine configuration and truss-frame styling for display-focused model builds.
The Desmosedici was created by Ducati as a compact V4 combining two 90 degree L-twin banks within a single crankcase. Released in 2003, the concept paired a 16-valve V4 with a tubular steel truss-frame and an engine-mounted swingarm pivot. Early race seasons featured riders including Loris Capirossi and Troy Bayliss, with competitive outings at circuits such as Suzuka and Catalunya in 2003.
Detailing in the kit centres on mechanical authenticity and surface realism. Injection-molded parts form the truss-frame and V4 layout, while the rear suspension mounting reflects the engine-attached swingarm arrangement. Throttle, clutch and brake control lines are modeled as plastic tubing and the tyres are synthetic rubber styled as slicks. Side and seat cowlings are removable after assembly to allow engine viewing. Cartograf decals are provided for two race liveries covering No.65 and No.12. Specific white sponsor marking decals are omitted upon request.
A kit aimed at hobbyists and collectors seeking accurate external engineering and visible engine detail at 1/12 scale.
