Overview: 64-Pitch 38T Pinion

The Yokomo YOKPG6438 is supplied as a 38-tooth pinion cut to 64-pitch standards for electric RC models. It enables straightforward changes to final drive ratios and helps refine drivetrain response under load.

Use this pinion where the system calls for 64-pitch gear geometry; it is compatible with a wide range of gearboxes and motor styles. Always confirm the pinion's tooth count and pitch match the spur gear, and check motor shaft diameter and set screw format before attempting installation.

Installation notes: slide the pinion onto the motor shaft to the correct axial position, set an appropriate mesh clearance to prevent early wear, and torque fasteners to recommended values. After assembly, manually rotate the drivetrain to verify smooth engagement and to spot any abnormal play or binding.

Tuning note: fitting a 38T increases the final drive compared with smaller pinions, shifting the balance between acceleration and top speed; progress in small increments when testing to avoid big handling surprises.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
It is a 64-pitch pinion with 38 teeth, intended for use with 64-pitch spur gears and compatible gear trains.
Measure the motor shaft diameter and compare with the pinion bore plus check the set screw style; if they differ, use the correct adaptor or choose a matching pinion to avoid damage.
Change pinion size in small steps, record performance differences on test runs, and adjust spur or motor settings as needed to reach the desired drive balance.
