This aluminium front arm bulk is created as a direct replacement for the stock plastic item on Tamiya CW-01 platforms such as The Hornet and Grasshopper. It provides a firmer mounting point within the front suspension while preserving original mounting positions and geometry.
By acting as a stiffer structural element the part reduces flex at the steering and suspension pick-up points. That increase in rigidity will alter steering feel and suspension reactions, so expect a different driving sensation and validate travel and wheel clearance after installation.
Installers familiar with CW-01 service will find the swap straightforward: remove the current front arm bulk from the bulkhead, move over any pins or small retainers, then secure the aluminium component in place. Once done, cycle the steering and suspension to ensure there is no binding.
In setup work this component is useful for adjusting front-end stiffness as part of a handling tune. Because it changes chassis stiffness rather than spring rates, cross-check toe, camber and ride height when refining the car's balance.
