USB configuration tool for Futaba ESCs and gyro

The Futaba CIU_2 offers a direct USB connection from a Windows PC to supported Futaba speed controllers and gyros for setup and parameter management. It functions as an RC-scale programming accessory to read, modify, and store settings for MC401CR, MC601 and MC850C ESCs and the GY520 gyro.

Hookup is straightforward: the CIU_2 includes a USB plug plus a 19.7in extension cable to reach components in common 1/10 - 1/8 scale car layouts. The device uses normal USB bus power and works with Futaba configuration utilities on the compatible Windows releases listed below.

The CIU_2 is aimed at configuration and tuning tasks rather than runtime motor control. Configurable items include variable frequency range, low battery cut levels, selectable current limiter modes, maximum brake duty and neutral brake adjustments. A log read/erase capability helps with fault finding and recording changes.

System requirements: PC running Windows Vista, Windows XP, or Windows 2000 and an available USB port. Verify that your Futaba configuration application supports the listed operating systems before use.

Use the CIU_2 whenever you need a compact USB bridge to tune parameters and retrieve logs from supported Futaba ESCs and the GY520 gyro, suitable for bench work or field use with a laptop.

Compatibility covers MC401CR, MC601 and MC850C ESC models plus the GY520 gyro. Make sure you run the correct Futaba configuration program for each model.
No external supply is required for the interface itself; it uses the USB port for its 5V power. The ESCs and motor still require their normal battery when performing motor tests.
The interface is intended for setup and logging only. It does not replace the ESCs control link during normal operation and does not directly drive the motor.
Use the Futaba configuration software with the CIU_2 connected to read stored logs. Where supported by the ESC firmware you can also erase logs after review.
