Engineered silicone for gear-type diffs

This product is an RC-scale silicone oil made for gear-style differentials used in radio-controlled cars. It acts as a tuning fluid to change damping and torque transfer characteristics inside the diff, enabling finer control of handling balance without mechanical alteration.

Usage is straightforward: top up or replace the oil in the gear differential housing to influence center, front or rear diff behavior depending on your chassis configuration. Because it is a fluid-based tuning method, even small viscosity variations can noticeably affect traction, roll and rotation; proceed in small steps and record each change.

Installation guidance: clean all differential internals and bearings before adding new oil to avoid contamination, work on a clean bench, and run the diff after filling to ensure the fluid distributes through gears and cross pins. Use suitable seals and gaskets to prevent leakage and check for foam or trapped air.

Storage and handling: store the bottle upright in a cool dry area, keep the cap tightened, and avoid spilling on painted surfaces since silicone oil can interact with some paints and plastics. Dispose of any excess according to local hazardous waste rules.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Start with your baseline oil, make one incremental change to Dot 7, then test drive. Evaluate handling differences before making further adjustments to isolate the effect of the oil change.
Mixing viscosities is possible but results are not linear; small blends can yield intermediate damping characteristics. Record ratios and test progressively to find the desired balance.
If the diff feels too loose or exhibits foaming, or if leaks occur, re-open, clean, and adjust the oil volume. Proper sealing and cleanliness prevent most fill issues.
