Brass pendulum weights for improved wheel bite

The GPM023X brass pendulum wheel knuckle axle weight is an aftermarket accessory that places mass low on the wheel to improve traction and stabilise the vehicle when crawling steep rock or uneven ground. The tapered pendulum form, central bearing and Delrin collar let the mass hang so the tyre keeps contact instead of slipping.

The kit arrives with adapters, pins, shims, washers and bearings to fit multiple crawler platforms. Use this where you want extra downward pressure on the wheel to maintain contact on low-angle obstacles and to reduce snags when a tyre digs into soft terrain.

Key technical and fit notes taken from the manufacturer:

• The single pendulum weight is specified as 128 gram, not including the bearings and collars.
• Two hex widener sizes are provided: 31mm hex wideners intended for Traxxas TRX-4, and 21mm hex wideners for Axial SCX-10 I/II, GMADE Sawback family and HPI Venture 1165642.
• Wheels must have an inner diameter of 45mm and a wheel shaft hole of 5mm to be compatible with this kit.
• Installation location is on the outer case of the front and rear knuckle arms where this aftermarket part mounts to add mass not present on the original chassis.
• For TRX-4 use, insert the white Delrin collars on the rear side of the pendulum where there is a groove and secure the hex adapter with the supplied screw pin.
• For Axial SCX-10 I/II, GMADE Sawback/Sawback 4LS/Komodo and HPI Venture 1165642, press bearings on both sides of the pendulum and install the hex adapter directly onto the supplied steel pin.
