This front CVD, or constant velocity drive, is a scale drivetrain component built to transfer torque from the motor and gearbox to the front wheels on a TRAXXAS TRX4 Trail Crawler chassis. The unit is fabricated from hardened steel #45 and receives nutrifying and heat-treatment to increase surface hardness and longevity under crawling conditions.
In everyday crawling the CVD keeps the geartrain turning smoothly while maintaining even torque through low-speed, technical moves. The product is supplied as a set of two pieces for the front axle and preserves original dimensions for direct replacement when a TRX4 front CVD is required.
Fitting notes: swap like-for-like, inspect spline engagement and axle retainer torque, do not overtighten fasteners which can preload the joint, and confirm clearance with suspension travel. For tuning, pair the hardened CVDs with sensible differential and wheel offset choices to protect the rest of the drivetrain.
A direct-replacement hardened-steel front CVD set aimed at improving wear resistance for TRX4 scale crawling applications.
