The F4U-5N Corsair represents one of the last major prop fighter developments for naval service. Built from the F4U-4 lineage, it first flew on December 21, 1945 and featured an extended nose housing the 2300hp R-2800-32W engine together with an auto-adjusting turbo supercharger. Production was limited to 233 aircraft after hostilities ceased.
This Hobby Boss release reproduces the F4U-5N's revised cockpit and canopy, offering accurate fuselage lines and nose proportions so builders can assemble a convincing scale example.
With more than 200 parts, the Hobby Boss F4U-5N kit offers a rewarding build that highlights engine and gear bay detail. Careful painting and panel line work will bring out the model's character and make it a standout addition to any collection.
