This Hobby Boss 1/48 model captures the PLAAF JJ-5 trainer as a two-seat derivative in the MiG family. Combining traits from the MiG-15UTI and J-5, the JJ-5 has an important place in postwar training fleets and makes an interesting subject for scale modelling.
The Chengdu JJ-5 was produced from 1968 until 1986 with over a thousand aircraft completed, serving the People's Liberation Army Air Force and a number of export customers. The model's finished length is 241.5 mm and the wingspan is 201.5 mm, while the kit features optional position flaps and a detailed engine to appeal to those who enjoy mechanical accuracy.
Choose from suggested camouflage schemes such as those used by the Bayi Aerobatics Team and the PLAAF 4th Flying Academy to personalise your build. The kit contains 125 light grey parts and 8 clear canopy elements, allowing for careful paintwork and a display-ready outcome.
