The GAZ-AA was developed from the Ford Model AA and functioned as a sturdy logistic vehicle for the Red Army between 1932 and 1942. Its four-cylinder 40 HP engine allowed top speeds near 70 km/h, and the truck was used for supplies, moving personnel and medical transport. Field modifications sometimes saw it fitted with weapons like the 25-mm AA gun or groups of Maxim machine guns.
Hobby Boss has modelled the truck at 1/35 scale with more than 230 pieces, delivering intricate plastic detail. The kit contains rubber tyres and photo-etched parts to enhance fine features. Final measurements are roughly 149.6mm long by 56mm wide, making it a compact but accurate replica.
Construction calls for patience on smaller assemblies and careful painting to capture period finishes. Clear components and new tooling help represent windows and finer shapes. When assembled the model makes a convincing exhibit for a military collection or a posed diorama.
