The BA-3 was produced from 1933 and is recognised for heavy armour and its adaptive chassis arrangements. Early versions used a Ford-Timken undercarriage, later superseded by adaptations on the GAZ-AAA design, and auxiliary tracks improved off-road mobility when needed.
The Hobby Boss 1/35 BA-3 kit contains over 290 parts, including a complex multi-slide hull and a turret split into three main pieces. The inclusion of photo-etched parts raises the level of surface detail, making careful assembly worthwhile.
After assembly the model reaches approximately 140.8mm length and 59.5mm width. Rubber tyres and accurate moulded detail make it well suited to shelf display or inclusion in a period diorama alongside other interwar armoured vehicles.
