The Hobby Boss 83845 kit represents the Russian ZIS-151, a cornerstone vehicle in the post-WWII Soviet fleet and a common base for military conversions. This model honours the truck that took over from the Studebaker US6 and supported roles including rocket launcher platforms like the BM-13 Katyusha.

Design, Production and Service

Produced between 1947 and 1965 at the factory once called Zavod imeni Stalina and later Zavod imeni Likhacheva, the ZIS-151 was widely used across Soviet forces. The later ZIL-157 introduced notable changes such as an alternate grille and single rear wheel arrangement.
