The IJN I-400 was a standout engineering project during World War II, remaining the largest submarine until the development of nuclear vessels in the 1960s. Its design accommodated three Aichi M6A1 Seiran aircraft that could be launched rapidly, and although grand plans for long-range raids existed, they were never carried out.
This 1/700 scale release from Hobby Boss captures the vessel's distinctive silhouette and aircraft handling features with careful part detail. It is aimed at modellers who prioritise accuracy and museum-style presentation in a small footprint.
