The BJ054/BE ball ends serve as aftermarket replacement components for HPI Baja front upper arm assemblies. They use a nylon socket combined with hardened steel balls to offer a low-friction pivot between the alloy upper arm and steering or linkage components.
As a scale accessory the emphasis is on reliable movement and long service life rather than changing geometry. Install these when the original ball ends show wear, excessive slack, or following maintenance to restore accurate steering and steady suspension response.
To fit: remove the worn ball end, install the new nylon socket onto the mating post and confirm the steel ball rotates freely inside the housing. After installation check for binding or play and re-evaluate after the first run to ensure proper seating.
Tuning note: nylon housings produce smoother articulation than brittle plastics while steel balls minimise surface wear. If you detect sideways play in the joint, replace the ball end rather than tightening linkages since extra preload can cause binding and affect handling.
